Board Members
We are seeking individuals dedicated to advocating for policies that improve the status of Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color globally. If you have the professional background to help develop a startup nonprofit organization and are interested in supporting our mission, we welcome you to complete the registration form.
We will be meeting with interested individuals remotely in August 2026.
Qualifications:
Mission & Values
Deep commitment to uplifting Black women globally.
Prior experience in advocacy, research, or program development.
Governance & Compliance
Understanding of 501(c)(3) rules and IRS compliance.
Prior board service with knowledge of fiduciary duties (duty of care, loyalty, obedience) is a plus.
Financial & Operational Expertise
Experience with budgets, financial statements, audits, and grant reporting.
Ability to build programs, scale operations, and create policies.
Fundraising & Resource Development
Proven ability to raise funds (grants, donations, sponsorships).
Experience writing proposals and managing grant budgets.
Policy & Advocacy
Knowledge of policy change, legislative advocacy, and coalition-building.
DEIA Leadership
Experience centering diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in governance and programs.
Networking & Partnerships
Strong connections in philanthropy, government, NGOs, or the UN.
International experience or familiarity with global development frameworks.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Skills in tracking program impact, analyzing data, and using insights for improvement.
Communications & Storytelling
Experience in digital marketing, media relations, or brand-building.
Lived Experience
Direct experience relevant to Black women’s realities.
Time & Commitment
Willingness to attend meetings, serve on committees, and participate in fundraising.
