“To amplify the voices of Black Women across the Diaspora to affect policy change.”

Mission Statement

Who we are

The African American Public Policy & Advocacy Group, also known as the AAPPA [AH-pp-ah] Group, is a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization incorporated in 2024. Founded by Lori Person-Baynard, the organization was created to amplify the voices of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIWOC) around the world and ensure they are represented in the policies that shape their lives.

We are a team of dedicated advocates, leaders, and changemakers committed to advancing equitable policy solutions through education, advocacy, and empowerment. Our work centers on addressing systemic barriers, elevating underrepresented perspectives, and driving meaningful, lasting change for BIWOC globally.

What we do

We host our own programming and provide tailored sessions as professional services for partner organizations, institutions, and community groups — at local, national, and international levels.
